Jürgen’s athletic journey began at the prestigious Bayern Munich youth academy, where he trained from ages 11 to 16. His development continued across Europe with AC Milan, SpVgg Greuther Fürth, and several other elite German and Italian clubs, along with extensive training in Italy, Austria, Germany, and Poland. From 2016 to 2020, he played semi-professional soccer in Germany, gaining firsthand experience at a competitive level. After transitioning to coaching, he joined Speed Science PD, where he’s spent four years working with athletes one-on-one and at high-performance camps. Now based in Canada, Jürgen also coaches with International FC Ontario and has trained over 500 athletes across a range of sports. As a certified NSCA trainer and a provincial-level Olympic weightlifter, his approach blends elite-level soccer insight with high-performance physical training.

Matthäus is a certified strength and conditioning coach with a background as an elite soccer player and a provincial-level Olympic weightlifter. He spent 16 years in competitive sport, training with Atlético Madrid’s academy, the Spanish Youth National Team, and top German clubs like Eintracht Trier and FC Elversberg. Over the past five years, he has specialized in movement quality, injury prevention, and performance optimization. As a longtime coach at Speed Science PD, he’s worked closely with athletes from all backgrounds, tailoring programs that balance strength with technical excellence. His multi-sport experience spans gymnastics, hockey, parkour, volleyball, and lacrosse—giving him a unique lens on how athletes move and train. With a passion for precision and long-term development, Matthäus helps athletes push boundaries and perform at their best.
